CHAMOISic is the only (free) music festival in Italy where it is possible to listen to experimental, electronic and jazz music, in a unique landscape environment, as Chamois(1850 mt), Matterhorn valley, is the only village in Italy reachable by cable car or on foot, where cars can’t circulate. For its 12th edition, the festival is placed in 11 other villages/cities of the regions Valled’Aosta and Piemonte.
CHAMOISic was an unusual and interesting experience, wonderful place and people” Vladislav Delay ( Finland, 2021)
“Performing in CHAMOISic 2014 was an experience I’ll never forget; to be top of the world in that wild and beautiful mountainous setting was amazing enough, but also to be given the chance for my Ensemble to perform with the exceptionally versatile and open-minded Torino Teatro Regio Orchestra conducted by Fabio Gurian, and the spirit of generosity which permeated the festival, made it a wonderful and unique experience. Thank you CHAMOISic!” Jocelyn Pook (Stanley Kubrick’s Eyes Wide Shut composer, London, 2016)
“From Turin by car up in the mountains, further up by aerial lift and another chairlift I arrived finally at 2000 meters in the middle of a fantastic landscape at the mountain lake Lod for my concert. What a view, what a sound… But the festival had more stages: at the church of Chamois for a great rendition of madrigals by Vox Libera, at the marketplace for Frankie Hi NRG, at a bar for the excellent Alkaline Jazz Trio. I really enjoyed the diversity as well as the extraordinary hospitality! Thanks for the invitation”. Frank Bretschneider (Berlin, August 2018)
E ancora musica. Pure le marmotte swingano qui, a CHAMOISic.” Frankie hi-nrg mc (Agosto 2018)
“We enjoyed enormously our visit to CHAMOISic. The nearness to fantastic nature, the attentive audience and not least the fantastic crew of clever and friendly people we met all the way. Everyone went back with a big smile on their face. I recommend all my colleagues from around the world to visit this special festival”. Jon Balke (Norway, July 2017)
“After my concert at Chamoisic I was approached by an older woman with a broad and warm smile, who said: “So experimental! Lovely!” I think this tells you everything you need to know about a unique and extraordinary festival!”Fred Frith (UK/USA, 2016)
“CHAMOISic = Amazing! What more can a musician say about a festival with such a human/community feeling and a super team and a loyal/growing audience and a gorgeous cable-ride to the town/stage, and risk-taking programming? Amazing = thank you!” David Moss, Denseland (Berlin, August 2016)
“CHAMOISic is a very special festival, first time I have taken a funicolar to a concert, played out doors with the beautiful view of the Alps. But more important than the beautiful surroundings is the very welcoming people who runs it, the interested and enthusiastic audience, and the brave programming.” Eivind Aarset (Norway, 2016)
“Nestled in the Alps and accessible by cable-car CHAMOISic is a shining beacon for what a great small festival should be. Passionate organisers, and incredible setting and challenging yet engaging events received by a curious, generous audience. I’ve no idea how they have made this work but it does!” Leafcutter John (London, 2016)
